課程概述 |
本課程著重在培養大學部學生對當代有關「都市與區域發展」議題的興趣與理解能力，其課程要求有三：(1) 掌握當代都市與區域發展關鍵文獻，(2) 理論與經驗資料對話分析；(3) 培養訓練學生練習書寫論說文體 (academic writing)。 |

課程要求 |
首先，針對英文文獻嬝炙H及理解能力能力提升部分，是以Rouledge 出版社版以及Blackwell 出版社出版之一系列之Urban Readers 等相關書籍中 (詳如附件)，挑出具有影響力的文獻。學生採取輪流報告方式，分享該負責文章之主要觀點以及主要關鍵英文單字，用以加強學生文獻嬝炙H及英文理解能力。
其次，針對理論與經驗資料對話部分，分成兩塊，其一是每周上課要求學生每週收尋都市與區域發展議題兩則 (一則中文新聞，一則外電)，並且於上課前三天上傳到台大教學網站上 (CEIBA)，並且讓學生於課堂上討論不同學生收集的都市與區域發展新聞，用以激勵學生透過集體學習打破台灣既有全球化新聞素質不佳的限制。
另外，也將透過期中報告的「辯論」形式，針對台灣刻正發生的都市與區域發展議題進行正反雙方辯論，議題可以包括是松山機場是否仍維持兩岸機場、樂生療養院是否該維持全區保存、溪洲部落居民是否該被拆除等議題。
最後則是學生論說文體寫作，修習本課程學生將被要求每兩周一次，撰寫一則文長約一千字到一千五百字的小短文 (此為台灣一般平面媒體言論廣場的格式)，針對特定的都市與區域發展議題作深入討論。文章內容以都市與區域發展議題為限，並且將針對 (1) 論點原創性，(2) 文章邏輯性, (3) 內容豐富度等分別評定分數。
